The Challenge
Citylink needed a streamlined, app-based checkout experience that matched the speed and consistency of their online platform. The mobile flow also had to support card and wallet payments, while integrating with their existing promotions and discounts engine — all without compromising the user experience. Additionally, tickets needed to remain accessible to customers even in areas with low or no mobile coverage, such as rural stops or airport basements.
The Solution
We implemented Rise Payments, our proven payment gateway, to power a fast, secure, and seamless checkout process. The app supports both card payments and mobile wallet integrations, with full compatibility for Apple Pay and Google Pay. Tickets purchased through the app are automatically added to the user’s digital wallet, enabling offline access and ultra-fast boarding — even when mobile data is unavailable. Promotions and discount rules are also fully supported in-app, ensuring consistency across all booking channels.

The Challenge
Citylink needed to provide passengers with real-time bus tracking to improve journey confidence and reduce support queries — particularly around airport routes where timing is critical. The tracking had to be highly accurate, consistent across both the website and mobile app, and avoid reliance on external services like BODS, which can be unreliable or delayed. It also needed to integrate directly with the onboard ETM to ensure the location data reflects actual service progress.
The Solution
We delivered a fully integrated vehicle tracking system powered by live data from the onboard ETM, connected through the Rise API. This real-time feed updates the bus tracker across both the Citylink website and mobile app, ensuring passengers can see the exact location of their service at any time. By bypassing third-party sources and using verified vehicle data from the operator’s own fleet, we’ve improved accuracy, reduced customer support queries, and enhanced trust in the live service information. The result is a smoother, more reliable travel experience from booking to boarding.
