Rise Digital Media has completed the rollout of its next-generation Passenger App, following a major platform migration to .NET MAUI and .NET 10. The release marks a significant step forward in performance, stability and long-term scalability for operators using the Rise platform.
The migration replaces the previous mobile framework with a modern, unified codebase designed to support faster development cycles, improved reliability across devices, and a more consistent passenger experience on both Android and iOS.
A Modern Foundation for Passenger-Facing Innovation
By moving to .NET MAUI, Rise has consolidated its mobile app architecture into a single, future-proof platform. This enables the team to deliver new features more efficiently, while ensuring consistent behaviour, design patterns and performance across operating systems.
The adoption of .NET 10 further strengthens the platform by introducing improved runtime performance, enhanced memory management, and long-term support for enterprise-grade deployments — critical for high-volume passenger applications.
Improved Performance and User Experience
Passengers using the new app benefit from:
Faster load times and smoother navigation
Improved map rendering and real-time data handling
Greater stability across a wider range of devices
A refreshed and more consistent user interface
The new architecture also provides a stronger foundation for ongoing UX enhancements planned throughout the year, including personalisation features and improved journey discovery.
Built for Scale Across Multiple Operators
The Rise Passenger App is deployed across multiple bus operators and brands, supporting over 100,000 active users through mobile and web channels. The MAUI migration ensures the app can continue to scale reliably as additional operators, services and ticketing schemes are onboarded.
The app integrates seamlessly with Rise’s wider platform, including:
Real-time vehicle tracking (SIRI VM)
Journey planning
Account-based ticketing and payments
Operator back-office systems and reporting
A Platform Designed for Continuous Evolution
This release is not a one-off milestone, but part of a broader roadmap focused on continuous improvement. Rise will continue to roll out targeted performance, UX and feature enhancements over the coming months, working closely with operator partners to prioritise developments that deliver the greatest passenger and operational benefit.
